		<description>You can actually use MS eVC++4 (which used to be freely and easily available from microsoft (as you can see from googling it), but now seems to be lost in a maze of dead links (as you can see by trying to find it;)) to edit .rc and resource.h files.  Certainly if you can find a copy, that should be a free and legitimate route to take.</description>

What a hard way to use VS Express! Why don&#039;t you try to download and use one of these titles:

http://www.radasm.com/resed/
or
http://www.resedit.net/

Both are freeware resource editors that work directly with .rc file.

More than that, in VS you can right-click .rc file and choose Open with..., then add a path to a resource editor and make it default. This will open it next time you double-click .rc file within the Studio.
